HUSBAND OF JANE (ATKINSON) JACKSON, OF3, TEDDINGTON VILLAS, HOLME CHURCH LANE, BEVERLEY (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). A HULL POST OFFICE WORKER.
HE ENLISTED AT DRIFFIELD. SERVED AS COMPANY SERGEANT MAJOR, 6636, 8TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED AT THE SOMME, ON 18/08/1916, AGED 33. COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, JANE ATKINSON, WHO HE MARRIED IN APRIL 1916.
HIS NAME IS LISTED ON HULL'S MARFLEET LANE ROLL OF HONOUR.
