BORN DARLINGTON OCT 1886. SON OF FRANCIS ALLEN. HE SPENT HIS EARLY LIFE LIVING WITH GRANDPARENTS DARLINGTON AND LIVED IN HOLME ON SPALDING MOOR. SENT TO REFORMATORY SCHOOL. WAS IMPRISONED AT WAKEFIELD JAIL IN 1906 FOR STEALING A JACKET AND TROUSERS.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 7TH YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 13/05/1917, AGED 31. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL, FRANCE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER,, FRANCIS.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 16/06/1917 AS KILLED IN ACTION. HULL ADDRESS UNKNOWN.
