BORN BURLEY IN WHARFENDALE, YORKSHIRE, 1879. SON OF GEORGE SUMMERTON ANDERSON (1845-1915) AND MARY ANN POPPLETON. A FLOUR MILL LABOURER. HIS WIFE ANNIE ELIZABETH HURD (1876-1948) & SON TEDDY ANDERSON LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS (1911 CENSUS). HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 18TH WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WAS KILLED AT ARRAS, ON 03/05/1917, AGED 38. HE IS COMMEMORSTED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, ANNIE, WHO RE-MARRIED IN 1933. HE ALSO LEFT BROTHERS, HERBERT, ARTHUR AND HAROLD, AND SISTER SARAH JANE.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 29/06/1917 & 25/02/1918.
