Born Norton, Yorkshire, 1889. Son of Robert B and Annie Fewster, of 23 Wold St Norton, Malton Yorkshire, he had one brother, George and one sister, Florence.
He married Ann Coulson at Malton on 26 Feb 1916. They lived at 19, Butchers Row, Beverley, East Yorkshire. He worked in his father's Marine Store business.
Enlisted at Malton, Yorkshire, on 29 Feb 1916. Posted to France, on 9 July 1916. Served with the 8th EYR. Reported wounded, missing and then killed in action, on 18 Aug 1916, aged 27.
Commemorated on the Thiepval memorial, Somme, France
