BORN DOVERCOURT, HARWICH 1895. SON OF ROBERT ARCHIBALD TAYLOR AND LYDIA ANN TAYLOR, AT 4 OATLANDS ROAD, ENFIELD AND 5 MARKET PARADE, GREEN STREET, ENFIELD, MIDDLESEX (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). A PAWN BROKER'S ASSISTANT AND EX RECKITT'S WORKER, LIVING AT MERSEY STREET, HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL.

HE ENLISTED AT HULL. SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 17/04/1915. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 10/09/1916, AGED 21. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, ROBERT ARCHIBALD TAYLOR.

HE IS BURIED AT BAZENTIN-LE-PETIT COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, SOMME, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, "THEIR GLORY SHALL NOT BE BLOTTED OUT".

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 13/10/1916. *

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE MASSEY STREET & ST MARKS STREET ROLL'S OF HONOUR, & HULL'S CITY ENGINEERS MEMORIAL, PARK STREET, HULL.
