BORN HULL 1894. SON OF CHARLES WILLIAM EMERSON (1851-1909) AND ELIZABETH HUTTON (1853-1928), OF ,9 KINGSTON PLACE, WITHAM, HULL (WAR PENSION & CWGC ADDRESS). HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER. EX RECKITTS WORKER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE TERRITORIALS. DIED OF WOUNDS, 10/09/1916. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 12/10/1916, AGED 22.

HIS YOUNGER BROTHER, PRIVATE, JAMES MARSHALL EMERSON, 38286, 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED IN ACTION ON 23/08/1918, AGED 21 YEARS. HE WAS ALSO A FORMER RECKITT'S WORKER. WOUNDED IN THE LEFT ARM AT YPRES IN 1915. HIS PHOTOGRAPH WAS PRINTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 21ST MAY 1915. *
