Resided at York. Enlisted Swindon. Served as sergeant with the 1st Duke of Edinburgh's (Wiltshire) Regiment. Killed in action, on 24 Aug 1914, aged 26.
Buried at La Ferte-sous-Jouarre, Marne, France.
