BORN HULL 1894. SCULCOATES. SON OF HAUXBY SCOTT (1867-1943) & EMILY MARTHA SOLLY (1867-1961), OF 40 ARTHUR STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 11 SEYMOUR STREET, HAWTHORNE AVENUE, HULL. (ARMY CARD ADDRESS). HE WAS BROTHER, TO HERBERT, SYDNEY, LEONARD & ERNEST SCOTT. BEFORE THE WAR HE WAS ON THE CLERICAL STAFF FOR MARRIS, WILLOWS & SMITH LTD, MERCHANTS OF WHITEFRIARGATE. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. POSTED TO THE 9TH WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. LEFT FOR GALLIPOLI ON 11/07/1915. HE WAS SHOT THROUGH THE LEFT SHOULDER AT THE DARDENELLES, INVALIDED HOME & TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 01/10/1916, AGED 22. HE IS BURIED AT ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY, FRANCE.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 23RD NOVEMBER 1916. HIS PHOTOGRAPH APPEARED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 27TH SEPTEMBER 1915. *
