79 Main Street, Skidby. List the names of 42 men who served including 6 died in WW1

Born at Skidby, Yorkshire, 1894. Only son of Fred Grantham (1868- 1955) and Mary Ann Grantham, of 4, Lennoxe Villa, Paddock, Anlaby Park, Hull. Son of a farm labourer. He had one sister, called Ivy.

He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 23rd Battalion (Tyneside Scottish), Northumberland Fusiliers. Killed in action, on 17/08/1917, aged 22.

Buried in France. His Grave inscription, reads, "REST IN THE LORD".

His army efects were left to his mother, Mary. He iis commemorated on the Skidby WW1 memorial.
