BORN GOOLE 1898. SON OF WILLIAM THOMAS PIGOTT (1866-1927) AND RACHEL JAME TOMLINSON. OF 6 PROVIDENCE ROW, ALICIA STREET, HULL. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. JOINING THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 5TH BORDER REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 18/09/1916, AGED 18. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER RACHEL. HE IS LISTED ON THE SYKES STREET MEMORIAL, WITH TWO BROTHERS (HDM 09/10/1916) AND RECORDED ON HULL'S CLIFTON STREET SCHOOL MEMORIAL .
HIS BROTHER, PTE. WILLIAM HENRY PIGGOTT, COLDSTREAM GUARDS ALSO LIVED ABOVE.
