BORN HULL 1895. SON OF CHARLES TURNER (1854-1928) & HARRIET MINNS, OF 17 THORNE TERRACE, STRICKLAND STREET, HULL, (WAR PENSION & 1918 ABSENT VOTERS ADDRESS) AND 50 RAILWAY COTTAGES, DAIRYCOATES, HULL. HE HAD FIVE BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS. EMPLOYED BY MR H. FIELD, BILLINGSGATE, HULL.

HUSBAND OF  HILDA (PULEN), OF  1 WILLIAMS TERRACE, & 13, JOHN'S TERRACE, WALCOTT STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).  FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 60356, NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. HE ENLISTED IN THE 13TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT (4TH HULL PALS) AND SERVED IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 50841, TO THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION ON 10/09/1918, AGED 23.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 24/09/1919. *

HIS BROTHER, SERGEANT, CHARLES CHRISTOPHER TURNER, 8312, 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, SEVEN MONTHS EARLIER, ON 07/02/1918, AGED 31.
