EDWIN JOSEPH THOMAS WALKER

BORN DARLINGTON 10/08/1886. SON OF BROWN WALKER AND MARGARET POTTS. ONE OF NINE CHILDREN, INCLUDING SEVEN BROTHERS. EMPLOYED AS A SHIP'S MATE ON A HULL TUG. HE MARRIED IN 1905.
ENLISTED IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE AT THE OUTBREAK OF WAR. HE DROWNED MINE SWEEPING, OFF ABERDEEN, ON 07/10/1915, AGED 27. HIS BODY WAS RECOVERED AND BURIED AT HEDON ROAD CEMETERY, EAST HULL. HE LEFT WIDOW ELIZA VINER, AND FIVE CHILDREN AT 7, CLIFTON TERRACE, VICTOR STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS).
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES, WITH HIS PHOTO, ON 16/10/1915. HIS PHOTOGRAPH WAS ALSO PRINTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 14TH OCTOBER 1915. *
