ON 24/08/1919, THE GRIMSBY, STEAM TRAWLER, 'FAWN', WAS MINED OFF HARTLEPOOL, WITH THE LOSS OF ALL ELEVEN CREW. HE WAS AGED 43. DIED WITH SECOND ENGINEER, THOMAS TAYLOR, ON BOARD, FROM HULL.
CREW LOST ON FAWN (GY1008), missing in North Sea, 24th August, 1919.
