BORN HULL 1900. SON OF EDWIN BURN (1874-1942) & LILY WYATT SHARPE (1874-1957), OF LEEDS AND 15, CURZON STREET, HULL. HE HAD A YOUNGER BROTHER, COLIN SHARPE BURN. HIS FATHER WAS MANAGER OF AN ORIENTAL CAFE AND FANCY GOODS STORE.
HE ENLISTED LEEDS. SERVED WITH THE 1ST WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED 17/09/1918, AGED 18.
BURIED AT TREFCON BRITISH CEMETERY, CAULAINCOURT, AISNE, FRANCE.
HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, "INTO THE SUDDEN GLORY OUT OF THE DARK HE TROD"
