BORN HULL 1893. SON OF JAMES & ALICE CROPPER (1869-1928), OF 61 ROSMEAD STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). ONE OF NINE CHILDREN. A MESSENGER AND RAILWAY WORKER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 21520, THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 18/09/1918, AGED 25. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, JAMES CROPPER.

HIS OLDER BROTHER, PTE, WILLIAM ERNEST CROPPER, 23978, 1ST EYR, DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 28/05/1917, AGED 30. ANOTHER OLDER BROTHER, HERBERT SERVED IN ITALY.
