Background

BORN SUTTON ON HULL 1898. SECOND SON OF CHARLES & MARY HUTCHINSON, OF 10, FRANCIS AVENUE, WELLSTED STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). ONE OF SIX CHILDREN. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS. SON OF A HULL DAILY MAIL & "COLLECTOR" WORKER.

HE WAS COMMISSIONED AS A 2ND LIEUTENANT, INTO THE 2ND YORK AND LANCASTER REGIMENT. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 08/10/1918, AGED 20. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE VIS-EN-ARTOIS MEMORIAL, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 25 OCT 1918.

HIS BROTHER, SERGEANT, DAVID HUTCHINSON, 390032, RAMC, SERVED AT SAME THE ADDRESS  (1918 MILITARY VOTERS) AND WAS DISCHARGED WITH TRENCH FEVER. HIS SISTER CLARA AND BROTHER IN LAW, WILFRED (SERVING IN FRANCE).
