BORN HULL 1897. SON OF THOMAS & ANNIE MARIA KEMP, OF 4, SUTTON STREET, SPRING BANK, HULL (1901 CENSUS) AND 78, HIGH STREET, BOSTON, LINCOLNSHIRE (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

HIS FATHER WAS BORN IN HULL AND WORKED AS A FLOUR MILLER AND COMMERCIAL TRAVELLER. HIS MOTHER WAS BORN IN RETFORD, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE. HE HAD AN ELDER BROTHER, HAROLD AND A YOUNGER SISTER, ELSIE WHO WERE ALSO BORN IN HULL, BUT RESIDED IN BOSTON.

HE ENLISTED AT SOUTHAMPTON. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 1490 HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 5TH DORSET REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 01/10/1918, AGED 20. HE IS BURIED IN FRANCE.
