BORN BEVERLEY 1896. ELDEST SON OF ADA AND TYLER PADGETT (1863-924). A DRAPER'S ERRAND BOY. BROTHERS, JOHN AND ERNEST PADGETT. HE ENLISTED IN BEVERLEY. JOINED THE 5TH YORKSHIRE HUSSARS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 18/09/1916, AGED 19. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, ADA. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, AT THE SOMME.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE BEVERLEY WAR MEMORIAL, MEMORIAL GARDENS.
