BORN HULL 1898. SON OF FANNY PADLEY, OF 84 CAMPBELL STREET, HULL (PENSION LEDGER ADDRESS). HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION ON 10/09/1916. BURIED BAZETIN CEMETERY. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER 'FANNIE'. HE IS BURIED AT BAZENTIN-LE-PETIT COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, "THEIR GLORY SHALL NOT BE BLOTTED OUT".
