Born Hull 1895. Step son of Mary Ann Beadle (formerly Richardson), above, Hull, and the late Richard Richardson. (CWGC address). They had four children, including Leonard who was the eldest and is referred to as Leonard Beadle in the 1911 Census, at this same address. He worked as a saw mill labourer. Enlisted in Hull. Served as Private, 3196, 1/4th East Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 18/09/1916, aged 21. He is buried on the Somme. His grave inscription reads, "IN THE MIDST OF LIFE WE ARE IN DEATH"
