HIS WIFE EMILY PICKERING, LIVED AT 113, PLANE STREET, HULL (PROBATE ADDRESS). CHIEF ENGINEER OF THE "DAGO" SHIP. DIED OF HEART FAILURE, AT MALTA HOSPITAL, ON 03/10/1915, AGED 48. HIS NAME IS LISTED ON ST MATTHEWS CHURCH WW1 MEMORIAL, HULL.
S.S. Dago. Short history. Builder, Caledon Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd., Dundee. Launched, 11 April 1902. Into service and out of service WW1 In 1942 was bombed and sank.
Walter ROWAN. Chief Engineer, S.S. Dago of Hull, died 3rd October 1915 aged 48 in a hospital in Malta of a heart attack.
(Wills and Admin, Ancestry) he lived at 113 Plane Street, Kingston-upon-Hull and died at Zammitt Clapp Hospital, Malta. He effects went to his widow, Emily.
