BORN HULL. SECOND SON OF BENJAMIN RUSHFORTH (1862-1933) AND MARY KEYWORTH (1862-1924), OF DINORWIC HOUSE, 71, CROMWELL ROAD, GRIMSBY. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. SON OF A SLATE MERCHANT MANAGER. HE WORKED AS A SLATER APPRENTICE.

ENLISTED GRIMSBY. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 1893, 2ND LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 24/08/1918, AGED 31. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO BOTH PARENTS. HE LEFT £220 IN HIS WILL TO HIS FATHER, AT THIS PROBATE ADDRESS.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE VIS EN ARTOIS MEMORIAL, FRANCE.
