BORN SOUTH FERRIBY 1888. SON OF MRS MILICENT FAREM JACQUES (1859-1929) & THE LATE JOHN MARTIN TWIDLE (1857-1922), OF SOUTH FERIBY, AND 31 GREEN LANE, BARROW ROAD, BARTON ON HUMBER, LINCS. HE MARRIED ADA CLARK (1889-1972), AT GLANFORD, BRIGG, IN 1911. HIS WIFE ADA TWIDLE LIVED AT THIS CWGC ADDRESS, WITH THEIR SON GEORGE, BORN IN 1915. HE SERVED AS A GUNNER IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. WAS KILLED ON 09/09/1918, AGED 30. HE IS BURIED AT DERNANCOURT COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, "TO MEMORY EVER DEAR".

HIS BROTHER, RIFLEMAN, McKENZIE TWIDLE, 42628, 12TH ROYAL IRISH RIFLES, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 25/10/1918, AGED 20, AND IS BURIED IN BELGIUM.
