Enlisted in Hull. Formerly 21639, East Yorkshire Regiment. Transferred to the 8th Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 10/09/1917, aged 24.
He is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium. A single man. His army effects were left to his mother, Clara.
