ENLISTED AT DEVONPORT. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 27/01/1915. SERVED IN THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT & TRANSFERRED TO THE 6TH DORSETHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 27/08/1918, AGED 25. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, BEATRICE.
