HE ENLISTED HULL. SERVED AS LANCE SERGEANT, IN THE 1ST & 2ND COLDSTREAM GUARDS. AWARDED THE MILITARY MEDAL (MM) FOR BRAVERY. KILLED ON 27/08/1918, AGED 24. HE IS BURIED AT CROISILLES BRITISH CEMETERY. LISTED IN THE HULL ROLL OF HONOUR (HULL DAILY MAIL 6 SEPT 1918)
He is commemorated on the Hull City Police Force Memorial Plaque, Priory road Police station, Hull, unveiled on 21st January 1923.
