BORN HULL 1896. ELDEST SON OF GEORGE EDWIN CHICK (1874-1951) & EMMA ELIZA BRADY (1872-1927), OF 47, CAVE STREET, HULL AND 2, ORPINGTON VILLAS, RENSBURG STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD FIVE BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER. EMPLOYED AS AN APPRENTICE TAILOR.

ENLISTED AT HULL, IN THE 4TH EYR ON 21/04/1913. SENT TO FRANCE FOR 2 MONTHS ON 17/04/1915. POSTED TO THE 1ST EYR ON 01/09/1916. WOUNDED IN ACTION ON 25/06/1916. DIED OF GUN SHOT WOUNDS TO THE BACK AND CHEST, AT ETAPLES 26TH GENERAL HOSPITAL, ON 06/10/1916, AGED 20. BURIED AT ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY, FRANCE.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS AND WAR PENSION WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER AT 2, ORPINGTON VILLAS, RENSBURG STREET, HULL.
