BORN NORTH CAVE, 1901. SECOND SON OF GEORGE ALEXANDER HASTIE (1864-1930) & TERESSA PARKER (1870-1967) 0F 85, MELROSR STREET, ANLABY ROAD, HULL. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS.

HIS FATHER WAS A MARINE ENGINEER WHO SERVED ON MERCHANT SHIPS DURING WW1.

ARTHUR WAS A MERCHANT NAVY APPRENTICE SERVING ON HMT WAR STAG. HE DIED IN TURKEY ON 07/10/1919, AGED 18.

HE IS BURIED AT HAIDAR PASHA CEMETERY, TURKEY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, "NOT FORGOTTEN  - 85, MELROSE ST., HULL"
