FRANCIS LEDGER

BORN HULL 1882. SON OF LUKE LEDGER (1846-1928) & THE LATE JANE CLARKSON (1848-1889), OF 118, HAWTHORNE AVENUE, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS. WORKED AS A GAS WORKER.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 235038, 6TH LEICESTER REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 07/10/1917, AGED 35. COMMEMORATED AT THE TYNE COT MEMORIAL. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTER, MARY LEDGER.
REPORTED AS DIED OF WOUNDS IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 23/11/1917. HIS BROTHER, LUKE LEDGER, DIED AT HULL IN 1915, AGED 35.
