BORN ROOS 1897. SON OF WILLIAM HENRY & HARRIET MEDFORTH, ROOS. SON OF AN ENGINE DRIVER. FOURTH OF FIVE CHILDREN.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS A DRIVER, IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 30/12/1915. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 19/09/1917, AGED 20.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER WILLIAM HENRY MEDFORTH. HE IS BURIED AT ROOS (ALL SAINTS) CHURCHYARD.

NOTE: "SOLDIERS DIED" RECORDS STATE HE WAS BORN IN HULL.
