HE MARRIED AT ST AUGUSTINES, IN HULL, ON 30/04/1908. HIS WIFE. EDITH ALICE HIGGINS (1877-1956) AND THEIR TWO SONS, ARTHUR AND ALLAN, LIVED AT 16, BLAYDES STREET, HULL, (CWGC ADDRESS).

A MASTER JOINER BY TRADE. HE ENLISTED IN THE ROYAL ENGINEERS, IN HULL, ON 27/11/1914, AGED 35 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 9 INCHES TALL, 38.5 INCH CHEST, 150 LBS WEIGHT, GOOD PHYSIQUE. HE WAS MOBILIZED FOR SERVICE, ON 20/11/1916. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 19/06/1917. HE DIED FROM DROWNING, ON 19/08/1917, AGED 36. HE IS BURIED AT HOLYBROOK CEMETERY, SOUTHAMPTON.
