BORN CORK, IRELAND 1898. SON OF JOHN C MILLER & ROSE MILLER, AT 7 FILEY PARADE, GILLETT STREET, HULL. HIS FATHER WAS LONDONER, WHO MARRIED IN IRELAND AND WORKED AS A LABOURER IN HULL IN 1901. GEORGE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 21/08/1917, AT YPRES, AGED 19. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTER, KATE FOSTER. HE ALSO LEFT AN ELDER BROTHER JOHN C. MILLER AND AN ELDER SISTER ALICE. BURIED AT TRACK X CEMETERY, BELGIUM.
