BORN EDENBRIDGE, SEVENOAKS, KENT 1881. FOURTH SON OF ALEXANDER OGALVIE (1851–1931) & ISABELLA OGILVIE (1845–1936), OF 38, DELHI STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HIS PATENTS WERE BOTH BORN IN GLASGOW. SON A TANNER BELT MAKER. HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND A SISTER.

HE WAS A GENERAL LABOURER. LIVING AT 38, DELHI STREET, MARFLEET, HULL (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 31/08/1915. SERVED AS GUNNER, 50110, ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. HIS PENSION RECORDS STATE THAT HE DIED OF SHELL SHOCK WOUNDS, ON 17/09/1916, AGED 35.

BURIED ON THE SOMME. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER ALEXANDER OGILVIE. HIS MOTHER, ISABELLA RECEIVED A WEEKLY WAR PENSION OF 7 SHILLINGS, ON 10 APRIL 1917.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON HULL'S MARFLEET ROLL OF HONOUR.

HIS BROTHER GEORGE SERVED WITH THE CANADIANS AND WAS WOUNDED. HIS BROTHER JAMES, SERVED AS 16776, EYR DEPOT AND WAS DISCHARGED WITH SHELL SHOCK ON 28 MAY 1917. HIS BROTHER , MAURICE DIED IN HULL IN 1921, AGED 34.
