BORN SCULCOATES, HULL 1881. THIRD SON OF FELIX RUSTON (1842-1906) & SUSAN WHITTON (1846-1892), OF 5, WYNDHAM STREET, HULL (1901 CENSUS). SON OF A STONEMASON. HE HAD THREE SISTERS AND TWO BROTHERS, GEORGE, AND HARRY. THEY LIVED AT VARIOUS HULL ADDRESSES WHEN THEIR PARENTS DIED.

HE WORKED AS A BRASS MOULDER AND DOCK LABOURER. HE LIVED WITH HIS MARRIED SISTER, SUSAN BURTON, AT 40, CONSTABLE STREET, HESSLE ROAD, HULL (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 11393, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 13/05/1915. ALSO SERVED IN SALONIKA.TRANSFERRED TO THE 22ND NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS (3RD TYNESIDE SCOTTISH).  KILLED IN ACTION, ON 17/09/1918, AGED 37.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MARRIED SISTERS, SUSAN BURTON AND EMMA JANE CRESSEY, AND OLDER BROTHERS, GEORGE AND HARRY.
