BORN HULL 1896. SON OF THE LATE CHARLES CHRISTOPHER SCHRIMSHAW. HIS STEP MOTHER MARIANNE GARDNER, LIVED IN BEVERLEY IN 1901. HE LIVED IN WOODBRIDGE, SUFFOLK. HE ENLISTED AT GRANTHAM. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 12639, 7TH LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT. HE ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 14/07/1915. WAS KILLED AT YPRES, ON 20/08/1915, AGED 20. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTERS, MARY E SCHRIMSHAW, AND DORIS JOHNSON. HE IS BURIED IN BELGIUM. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, "THY WILL BE DONE".
