Married in 1912. Husband of Jessie Harness, at West Parade, Hull (War Pension address). They had four children, Emily, John, Charles and Annie Elisabeth
Served in the Royal Field Artillery and the Labour Corps. Posted to France, on 29 Jan 1915. Discharged on 8 Nov 1919. After the war he worked as a Rulleyman for J W H Hopper General Carriers. Died on 18 Nov 1921, aged 38. His brother Martin served in the West Riding Regiment and also received a war pension.
