He had been married only 4 months before he died of wounds at Bordeaux on 22<sup>nd<\/sup> October 1914.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Ernest Sidney Waine<\/strong>, a ship&#8217;s carpenter for the Wilson Line, drowned in 1914. He had only been married for three months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Tom Oliver<\/strong>, Coldstream Guards, wounded in a bayonet charge, died on 25th December 1914. He left a widow and five children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Charles Chipchase<\/strong>, from 7 Courtney Street, was killed in action in 1914. He left a widow and four children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>William Coggin<\/strong>, Royal Navy died in an explosion in 1914. He left a widow and three children at Kent Street.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Private, Ernest Goddill, killed in action on 21st October 1914, left a widow and three children in Perth Street.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arthur Colby, from 6 Wassand Street, was another early casualty in the War.
