Born Oldham, Lancashire, 10/10/1883. Son of Henry Miles Radcliffe, JP (1851-1908) and Eva Bertha Platt (1858-1950); He had one brother, Claude and two sisters, Gwendoline and Phyllis.  he married at Droitwich, Worcestershire, in July 1913. husband of Dorothy Kathleen Radcliffe (1891-1958), of “The Laurels” Hull Road., York. A Professional Soldier before the war. Served with the 2nd Border Regiment, attached to the 1st  Royal Scots Fusiliers. Killed by a sniper while stepping into a dugout.

He left £8,807 in his will to his widow Dorothy and son Miles Claude Radcliffe (1914-1986)

KEMMEL CHURCHYARD, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. His Grave reads, “PEACE PERFECT PEACE”
